French Railway’s House

Designed by Charlotte Perriand and Erno Goldfinger with executive architects Shaw & Lloyd, FRH was completed in 1962.

IMA were asked to refurbish the building for Pontsarn Investments.

The building façades to Piccadilly and Duke St. St. James's were cleaned and restored with a new large retail unit created at ground and basement levels. The loggia was in-filled at ground floor to create more retail area and re-establish the original Piccadilly shop front alignment. A new office entrance and reception was designed using Japanese glass cladding. The Pivotant wall lights designed by Perriand during her time with atelier Le Corbusier were used as an installation in the scheme. New acoustic ceilings, lighting and a reception desk designed by IMA completed the work.
