54_56 Jermyn Street

IMA were asked by Pontsarn Investments to develop a scheme for the refurbishment of 54-56 Jermyn Street, an Edwardian office building over two separate retail units located in the St. James Conservation area and part of the London Borough of Westminster.

The building is constructed from concrete encased steelwork, clad in Portland stone under a three storey slate mansard roof and is approximately 30,000 Sq Ft.

The building was previously occupied by Standard Chartered Bank.

The scheme involved taking the interiors back to shell while retaining and refurbishing the stone cladding and metal windows to improve performance. The office interiors included new wall finishes, ceilings, LED office lighting and new air conditioning as well as new bathrooms on all floors. The reception and office entrance doors were all replaced.

A piece of art for the entrance was commissioned by Nick Veasey.
