3 New Square

IMA were appointed by the new owners of Bedfont Lakes Business Park, Henley Investment Management, to prepare designs for the wholesale refurbishment of Building 3 New Square, an office building of 46,597 sqft located at the western boundary of the Business Park.

Building 3 is one of the original buildings commissioned by IBM from the architects Michael Hopkins and Partners together with the engineers Buro Happold and was completed in 1994.

The building was designed to IBM’s specific requirements and was occupied solely by them until last year.

Building 3 is a 3-storey building carried out in expressed structural steel with custom glazed and solid painted aluminium cladding panels and fixed external louvres.

The client’s brief was to carry out all new designs in the spirit of the original building. New extensions at ground and roof follow the original planning grid as well as details, materials and finishes.

Planning consent for the new works was granted in 2022 with works due to start on site in 2023.
