IMA were asked to develop a scheme for the refurbishment of 24 Chiswell Street, a 1990 office with multiple tenancies and ground floor retail. The building is located adjacent to the Honourable Artillery Grounds in the City of London on the corner of Bunhill Fields and Chiswell Street.
The building, of steel framed construction, is clad in Baltic Brown granite with double glazed curtain walling and approximately 76,465 Sq Ft.
The existing floors are constructed using permanent metal shuttering with thin reinforced concrete slabs.
Our scheme involved stripping the original interiors back to shell while retaining and refurbishing part of the cladding and windows to improve their performance.
The office interiors included new wall cladding, ceiling coffers, LED office lighting and air conditioning.
The office bathrooms at all levels were completely refurbished as well as the lift lobbies.
The new reception was totally transformed by dropping down to street level and a new cycle center was formed in the original basement space.
